Personal Lines Account Executive – Menasha

The Account Executive serves as the main contact for personal line clients and prospects and focuses on building strong relationship and meeting the needs of clients in a timely, effective, and courteous manner. The Account Executive also identifies and solicits sales prospects from referrals and other incoming sources and carries McClone’s reputation and professional manner of conducting business into dealings with clients, agency personnel, and carriers.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Service existing client accounts with any sales or support needs, including walk-in and phone call payments, claims, policy changes, quotes, or other requests
  • Retain business through proactive management of the renewal process, to include identifying policies requiring attention, requesting re-market quotes, following up on delayed renewals, discussing coverage options as applicable, renewing policies, and generating proposals
  • Proactively work to secure prospective clients by gathering information, submitting given information to multiple carriers, obtaining rates, and reviewing and educating prospects on definitions of coverage
  • Handle all inquiries and maintain service standards for all assigned clients on a continuous basis, working as an independent agent
  • Make coverage recommendations or changes, including efforts to cross sell new lines of business to existing accounts
  • Follow agency and department procedures for account maintenance and sales
  • Work proficiently and independently in customer management database systems (TAM), to include strong documentation of all customer interactions and setting follow-up activities for appointments, renewals, and other actions as needed
  • Work autonomously with all carriers and their products, including various applications, forms, and underwriting requirements for each carrier
  • Serve as back-up agent to other team members
  • Maintain constant communication with carrier representatives
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and products, and help coworkers to do the same by making sure they have access to the same updates
  • Delegate applicable task work to Administrative Support staff to enable focus on customer service and sales activities
  • Assist in training other team members and undergo continuing training as needed to keep up with licensing requirements
  • All other duties as assigned


  • High School Diploma or G.E.D required
  • 1+ years’ experience in related insurance customer service field is preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word
  • Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to delegate work to support staff
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively under tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem resolution skills

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access files cabinets, office equipment, etc.
  • Constantly using hands and fingers to operate a computer and other office equipment (copy machine, label machine, etc.)
  • Work takes place in a well-lighted, heated, and/or air conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation
