Vince Lombardi once said, “The dictionary is the only place that success comes before work. Hard work is the price we must pay for success.” I know well that McClone’s wellness committee has been hard at work, and our efforts have paid off with success! This fall, we received the news that the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA) awarded McClone a prestigious gold level Well Workplace Award.
There are four levels of Well Workplace awards – bronze, silver, gold, and platinum. The gold award “recognizes organizations that are developing comprehensive wellness programs producing results,” according to WELCOA’s website.
What does that mean? It means that McClone’s wellness program covers a wide range of topics, and we are able to prove that it’s generating positive outcomes for the company and our employees.
To develop a Well Workplace, McClone’s wellness team had to achieve rigorous goals within a 12-month timeframe. These included:
To date in 2012, there have been only 33 other Well Workplace Award winners nationwide. Of these, 23 are gold level winners. McClone joins the list as the smallest company and only insurance brokerage.
The wellness team was thrilled to receive this award, and we’re not the only ones. “We take great pride in our wellness program at McClone, and I am delighted for our team’s efforts to be recognized as we are named one of America’s Healthiest Companies,” said Mike McClone, President and CEO. “We have been in business for over sixty years, and we believe the wellbeing of our employees will play a key part in enabling us to be a market leader for the next sixty years.”
Worksite wellness is truly proving to be a viable business strategy, and I look forward to helping McClone and our clients work hard and continue to achieve success in the future!
